Senior Exports Supervisor - Mombasa

About the role

Career Directions Limited (CDL) is hiring a Senior Exports Supervisor in Mombasa for its Sea Exports unit, reporting to the Branch Manager and supervising the shipping supervisor, COMs, CSOs and the invoicing supervisor. The role covers supervision of day-to-day export operations, coordination of export activities, support of business development, monitoring of team performance and ensuring timely execution of export processes in line with company standards and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily export operations and coordinate documentation, customs clearance, shipping, transport and warehouse activities; monitor operational KPIs and escalate risks and service issues.
• Maintain client relationships, resolve customer concerns, conduct service reviews and support tariff reviews and customer retention.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, KRA requirements and company procedures, coordinate bond returns and statutory documentation, and support internal and external audits.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports, analyse operational trends and maintain accurate records.
• Support identification of new business, prepare quotations and proposals, take part in customer visits and help set up new accounts.
• Supervise, coach and develop the exports team, allocate work, hold performance discussions and identify training needs.
• Identify efficiency improvements, champion process improvement and support operational excellence projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in export operations within logistics, freight forwarding, transport and supply chain management.
• 3+ years managing a team at a supervisory level.
