Senior Full Stack Developer (React/Node.js)

About the role

Salix Data is hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer (React/Node.js) for a full-time, middle-level position in Nairobi, Kenya. The role covers end-to-end development of enterprise web applications, API design, database work and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain enterprise web applications with React.js and Node.js, with responsive front ends and scalable back-end services, APIs and integrations
• Take part in application architecture and technical design, and recommend technology improvements and modernization
• Design RESTful APIs and integrate applications with internal and third-party platforms
• Design, develop and optimize database structures and queries, and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Write clean, documented code, perform code reviews, run unit, integration and system tests, and support CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot defects and production issues, and collaborate with business analysts, architects, project managers and product stakeholders in Agile ceremonies

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven experience building enterprise web applications
• Agile software development experience and collaboration with distributed or cross-functional teams
• Preferred: insurance, financial services, FinTech or InsurTech experience, microservices, Docker, and Azure/AWS/GCP certifications
