Senior Jakarta EE/Java EE Architect & Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Jakarta EE/Java EE Architect & Developer to join a leading Swiss IT firm in Lucerne. The role combines hands‑on development with high‑level system architecture, working in a hybrid setting (2 days onsite).

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop core frameworks using Jakarta EE, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Create architectural and design specifications for new software components.
• Mentor and coach development teams, sharing best practices such as design patterns, TDD, DDD and clean code.
• Deliver training sessions on modern engineering principles and agile methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a software architect or senior Java developer.
• Strong knowledge of Jakarta EE/Java EE and modern engineering practices (TDD, DDD, clean code, agile).
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Rancher.
• Ability to analyse complex issues and devise systematic solutions.
• Proficiency in German at least B2 level.
