About the role
Laikipia University seeks an experienced Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Economics to lead curriculum development, deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and advance research in the field.
Key responsibilities
- Lead curriculum design, review, and creation of teaching materials.
- Deliver lectures, supervise research projects and assess student performance.
- Develop and manage research projects, publish in peer‑reviewed outlets, and generate intellectual property.
- Participate in university committees, community service, and academic seminars.
- Provide expertise for income‑generation programmes and supervise industrial attachments.
Required profile
- Master’s degree and a PhD (or equivalent) in Agricultural Economics or a related field.
- Minimum 32 publication points, with at least 24 from refereed journals.
- Supervised at least three postgraduate students to completion.
- Three or more years of experience as a Lecturer or equivalent.
- Registration with a reputable professional body is an advantage.
Required skills
- Computer Applications proficiency.
