Senior Lecturer - Educational Communication Technology

About the role

Machakos University is seeking two Senior Lecturers in Educational Communication Technology to join its faculty on a permanent basis. The successful candidates will contribute to teaching, research, and academic service within the university’s education department.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in educational communication technology.
• Supervise postgraduate research projects to successful completion.
• Attract and manage external research funding of at least Ksh 3 million.
• Publish research findings, with a minimum of 32 publication points, including at least 24 refereed‑journal articles.
• Participate in academic conferences, seminars, and workshops.
• Maintain active membership in relevant professional societies.

Required profile

• Earned PhD (or equivalent) from an accredited university, **or** a Master’s degree with nine years of experience, including three years as a Lecturer/Research Fellow (Grade 12).
• At least three years of teaching experience at university level.
• Minimum of 32 research and publication points, with at least 24 in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer/Research Fellow.
• Supervision of at least three postgraduate students to completion **or** one postgraduate supervision combined with successful external research funding.
• Evidence of good standing in professional societies or boards where applicable.
• Active participation in academic conferences, seminars, or workshops.
