Senior Lecturer - ICT

About the role

Bomet University College is recruiting a Senior Lecturer in ICT (reference BU/ACD/01/09/2026). The post involves teaching and assessing courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising student work and taking part in research and university service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses in ICT at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise undergraduate student projects and other experimental learning programmes
• Supervise postgraduate dissertations
• Assist in developing and reviewing undergraduate and postgraduate courses
• Initiate, promote and take part in research projects
• Participate in the academic leadership programme
• Provide professional and community services, build training and research partnerships, and undertake fundraising for the University College
• Carry out administrative duties and others assigned from time to time

Required profile

• Doctorate (Ph.D.) or its academic equivalent from an accredited institution
• Three years of university-level teaching experience since becoming Lecturer
• Research output of at least 24 points from refereed journals, 6 from postgraduate supervision and 2 from conference proceedings since appointment as Lecturer
• Proposal development that has attracted funding to the University
• Attendance and contribution to learned conferences, seminars or workshops
• Continued evaluation of effective teaching and research
• Active participation in departmental matters, student advising and university committees
• Recognition by relevant regulatory bodies and membership of the relevant professional body where applicable
