Senior Lecturer - Pharmacy

About the role

The Kenya Medical Training College is recruiting a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy for its Westlands campus in Nairobi. The post involves teaching pharmacy subjects, assessing students and supporting curriculum implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and evaluate subjects within the discipline, and prepare schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans
• Assess students in clinical areas and guide and counsel them on academic matters
• Induct new trainers and trainee lecturers
• Implement the competence-based curriculum
• Conduct research in the area of specialisation and supervise students on research projects
• Develop at least three teaching manuals
• When deployed as Curriculum Officer: develop and review policies, standards, systems and processes relevant to curricula, mentor and coach staff on curriculum development, and carry out basic, applied and action research to address curriculum-related knowledge gaps

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognised institution
• Valid practicing licence from the relevant regulatory body where applicable
• Registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB)
• Demonstrated merit and ability shown through work performance and results
