Senior Manager / Associate Director – Transformation Management Office (Midwest US)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Manager / Associate Director to lead the Transformation Management Office for our portfolio companies across the Midwest United States. You will work on‑site with portfolio businesses, supporting their turnaround and value‑creation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with portfolio company management boards and Mutares teams to develop and execute turnaround business plans.
• Design and drive implementation of restructuring concepts, coordinating operations, finance and stakeholder teams.
• Assess strategic decisions such as insourcing or outsourcing together with local and Mutares experts.
• Support acquisition and integration of add‑on companies.
• Establish governance, tracking and reporting mechanisms within portfolio companies.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, engineering, science or a related field with excellent academic results.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in transformation, restructuring or turnaround projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities combined with an entrepreneurial, hands‑on mindset.
• Fluent English communication, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel up to four days per week and work in an international environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
