Senior Power System Studies Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a technically outstanding Senior Engineer to lead Power System Studies for renewable energy projects. The role involves delivering and overseeing steady‑state, dynamic and electromagnetic transient studies to ensure reliable grid integration and compliance across solar PV, wind, BESS and hybrid installations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform load flow, N‑1/N‑2 contingency, short‑circuit, protection coordination, arc‑flash, power‑quality, grid‑interconnection and contingency analyses.
• Conduct stability studies (transient, dynamic, small‑signal, voltage) and ride‑through assessments for inverter‑based resources.
• Develop, validate and maintain detailed dynamic and EMT models for solar inverters, wind turbines, BESS (grid‑forming and grid‑following) and hybrid systems, especially in weak‑grid and high‑penetration scenarios.
• Execute cable ampacity, thermal rating, reactive power compensation, sub‑synchronous oscillation and frequency response studies.
• Support manual engineering calculations for transformer sizing, protection schemes, grounding design, lightning protection, CT/PT sizing and reactive power requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, ensure compliance with national and international grid codes, and automate study workflows through scripting.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering power system studies for renewable energy projects from feasibility to operation.
• Deep knowledge of grid codes and standards worldwide.
• Strong expertise in modelling inverter‑based resources and performing EMT simulations.
• Proven ability to automate study processes using scripting languages.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
