Senior Relationship Officer – Bancassurance

About the role

Sidian Bank is hiring a Senior Relationship Officer for its bancassurance unit in Nairobi (Westlands). The role covers business growth, marketing and brand management, relationship management and customer experience, personal leadership and development, and risk and compliance across the cluster of branches.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business growth of the risk and investment portfolio and ensure each branch meets its retail life product income targets.
• Train branch staff on insurance products, onboarding documentation and claims processes, and build a referral pipeline and cross-sell to existing customers.
• Ensure customers complete forms correctly and that documents move smoothly between clients and the insurer.
• Prepare weekly and monthly production reports and gather market intelligence on competitors and trends.
• Build good relationships with cluster branch managers, understand local market analysis and consumer trends, and establish relationships with key local clients within budget.
• Mentor the Bancassurance Branch Champion and coordinate branch initiatives to gather customer feedback.
• Deliver on customer satisfaction scores (CSAT, CES, NPS), hold regular client visits and forums, and handle complaints proactively.
• Analyze the financial and non-financial needs of HNW clients.
• Follow the bank's AML/CFT policy, avoid sanctioned persons, and report suspicious transactions immediately.
• Identify your own career path, prepare an annual Personal Development Plan, and meet learning and training hour targets.

Required profile

• 2-3 years' experience in insurance sales management in insurance or bancassurance, including at least 1 year of sales experience.
• Diploma in insurance, COP in Insurance, B.Com (Insurance option) or BSc Actuarial Science.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in bancassurance, insurance and banking.
• Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent business communication, presentation and report writing skills.
• Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
