Senior Sales Associate - Solar PV & Energy Solutions

About the role

Miale Solar Inventions Ltd is a renewable energy company supplying Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions to commercial and industrial users across East Africa. It is hiring a Senior Sales Associate for its Sales & Business Development team in Nairobi, reporting to the Sales Manager. The role owns an assigned sales pipeline and drives opportunities from lead generation to closure.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities in the C&I solar energy market
• Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline from lead generation to contract closure
• Develop relationships with existing and prospective clients and industry stakeholders
• Hold client meetings and site visits to understand energy needs and propose Solar PV and BESS solutions
• Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations and sales presentations with the technical team
• Negotiate and close sales, and meet monthly, quarterly and annual targets
• Maintain CRM and pipeline records and prepare sales reports and forecasts for the Sales Manager
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity, and support sales strategy for growing the C&I customer base
• Work with Engineering, Project Management, Finance and Operations on project handover, and take part in industry events and networking

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Engineering, Energy Management or a related field
• At least 3 years of proven sales experience, preferably in Solar PV, renewable energy or energy solutions
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets; C&I solar experience is an advantage
• Good knowledge of Solar PV, BESS and the Kenyan renewable and commercial energy market
• Experience managing sales pipelines and converting leads into business
• Strong negotiation, presentation and client relationship skills, and ability to work independently
