Senior Security Officer

About the role

Bomet University College is recruiting a Senior Security Officer to help maintain a peaceful environment for learning and living on campus. The postholder develops work plans, carries out raids and random checks, updates intelligence records and liaises with other law enforcement agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop monthly work plans that guide operations and intelligence collection to keep the university peaceful.
• Plan and carry out regular raids and random checks to prevent crime, and prepare incident reports.
• Apprehend offenders found on campus and update intelligence records daily.
• Ensure evidence is available during disciplinary hearings.
• Liaise with other law enforcement agencies on security matters.
• Brief the senior security officer daily on investigation matters.
• Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Required profile

• A Master's degree in Criminology/Security Studies with 3 years' experience as an Assistant Security Officer, or a Bachelor's degree with 6 years' experience (3 as Assistant Security Officer), or a Higher National Diploma with 12 years' experience (3 as Assistant Security Officer), or a Diploma with 15 years' experience (3 as Assistant Security Officer).
• Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
• Registered with a professional body and in good standing.
