Senior Software Engineer – Enterprise Automation (n8n)

About the role

We are looking for a senior software engineer to lead the scaling and maintenance of our self-hosted n8n automation platform. The role is fully remote, focused on building reliable, high-throughput workflows that power the entire enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, scale and ensure reliability of the internal n8n automation engine.
• Develop custom node code and advanced webhooks to extend platform capabilities.
• Design asynchronous, non-blocking workflows that handle heavy API payloads with throttling and queuing.
• Manage production-grade infrastructure and work with core platform teams to resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering teams to align technical execution with operational strategy.

Required profile

• Senior-level professional software engineering experience in high-scale environments.
• Fluent English for daily technical communication and documentation.
• Ability to work remotely aligned with EMEA business hours (CET/GMT).
