Senior Technologist – Human Anatomy

About the role

The Technical University of Mombasa is seeking an experienced Senior Technologist to lead its Human Anatomy teaching laboratory. This full‑time position provides strategic leadership, oversees practical training for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and supports research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the multi‑specialty Human Anatomy laboratory.
• Organise and deliver practical sessions for both undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts.
• Maintain and service laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Supervise and mentor technical staff within the department.
• Participate actively in departmental research projects.
• Contribute to procurement processes and manage related documentation.
• Engage with external stakeholders to foster collaborations and support departmental goals.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum five years of experience running a busy multi‑specialty teaching laboratory in Human Anatomy.
• Registration and good standing with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
• Demonstrated research experience.
• Evidence of computer literacy.
