SME Relationship Officer

About the role

A tier-2 bank, represented by its recruiter, is looking for a dynamic SME Relationship Officer based in Nairobi. The role is central to developing, maintaining and expanding the client portfolio and growing the bank's business with small and medium enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and expand the SME client portfolio.
• Grow branch fees and commissions by offering targeted products and services to the SME portfolio.
• Proactively manage credit applications to reduce the risk of non-performing assets.
• Grow profitability, product penetration and customer satisfaction.
• Manage relationships through customer acquisition and retention in line with the bank's strategy.
• Market the bank's services and products to increase business growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in banking operations and SME banking.
• Strong knowledge of the local banking industry and banking products.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• High integrity, professionalism, a results-driven and proactive approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency in marketing and selling.
• Sound financial management skills and ability to analyse financial data.
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
