Software Architect - Enterprise SaaS

About the role

Softgic is looking for a hands-on Software Architect to define and drive the next generation of enterprise SaaS solutions. This is not a purely strategic role: the ideal candidate combines deep software engineering expertise, architecture and prototyping skills, cloud and DevOps knowledge, and strong technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture vision and technical roadmap for a large-scale SaaS platform.
• Design complex enterprise systems focused on scalability, security, maintainability and long-term business goals.
• Build working prototypes and proofs of concept for development teams.
• Drive architectural standards and best practices while staying hands-on with engineering teams.
• Partner with other architects, work with Product leaders and collaborate with executive leadership on technology strategy.
• Lead design and integration of new platform capabilities, cloud, APIs, messaging, data, DevOps and application modernization.
• Support legacy modernization and coach architects, senior engineers and developers.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and use AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software engineering experience across the SDLC, with significant experience architecting enterprise web apps and SaaS platforms.
• Proven experience as a Software Architect, Solution Architect, Principal Engineer or Staff Engineer, with a strong hands-on engineering background.
• Experience delivering technology and architecture roadmaps, working with Agile teams and leading technical initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Advanced English (C1 preferred).

Required skills

• Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript; ASP.NET Core.
• Multi-value databases such as UniData or UniVerse.
• DevOps: containerization, configuration management, monitoring, deployment and automation.
• Messaging and event-driven platforms such as Azure Service Bus, Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, and deploying and troubleshooting cloud applications.
• Legacy modernization experience.
• Additional value: GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, open-source technologies and strong business acumen.
