Software Developer – Financial Markets Analytics Platform

About the role

Join the SABRE team, Standard Chartered’s strategic risk and P&L platform for Financial Markets. As a Software Developer you will deliver high‑quality Java solutions, collaborate with global business analysts, project managers and stakeholders, and contribute to a cutting‑edge analytics engine used across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java 8 applications using Spring Boot.
• Implement RESTful APIs and ensure high performance through JVM tuning and multithreading.
• Work with distributed caching technologies such as Hazelcast, Redis or Memcached.
• Participate in agile Scrum ceremonies and deliver features within tight timelines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across multiple locations to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Fluent English communication (spoken and written).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and proactive, self‑starting attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple assignments.
• Team‑player with good collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Java 8 (streams, map/reduce, multithreading, JVM performance tuning).
• Spring Boot framework.
• Data structures and algorithms.
• ORM tools such as Hibernate (optional).
• RESTful API design and development.
• Functional programming experience (e.g., Haskell, Scala) – a plus.
• Distributed cache technologies (Hazelcast, Redis, Memcached).
• Oracle PL/SQL development and SQL tuning – a plus.
• Linux shell scripting – a plus.
• Scrum/Agile methodology.
