About the role
The SOIL Program Mentor will work directly with vulnerable households in Marsabit County to deliver monthly coaching, mentorship, and training that support nutrition, livelihoods, and child well‑being. Reporting to the Field Officer, the mentor acts as the frontline link between BOMA and the community.
Key responsibilities
- Mobilise, target, and enrol participants in the SOIL program.
- Facilitate the formation and strengthening of VSLA groups.
- Provide business coaching, market linkages, and follow‑up support.
- Collect and report data on program progress and outcomes.
- Coordinate with local government structures and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation.
Required profile
- Member of the local community with a clear understanding of its culture, language, and geography.
- Experience in community‑based development, entrepreneurship, or nutrition‑sensitive interventions (minimum 1 month).
- Ability to work independently in a remote field setting.
Required skills
- Strong facilitation and coaching abilities.
- Basic data collection and reporting skills.
