Field Officer – Laisamis (NGO)

About the role

The Boma Project is hiring three Field Officers to support the SOIL programme in Marsabit County. Reporting to the SOIL Program Manager, the Field Officer will provide technical leadership, planning and supervision to ensure programme activities are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach Mentors and other frontline staff.
• Lead participant targeting, enrolment and training on technical topics.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor field‑level implementation of livelihood and nutrition‑sensitive activities.
• Facilitate market and financial linkages for participants.
• Collect and analyse programme data using digital tools to inform adaptive management.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, gender‑responsive engagement and accountability standards.
• Prepare regular reports and coordinate with community leaders, government officials and sub‑grantees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Economics, Community Health, Nutrition, Project Management, Social Sciences or related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in programme implementation, preferably in livelihoods, economic inclusion, food security or agriculture.
• Demonstrated experience supervising field teams and delivering technical training.
• Training of Trainers (ToT) certification or experience in adult learning and facilitation is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Use of technology tools for data collection and monitoring.
• Design and delivery of technical training for field staff and participants.
