Staff Backend Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join our Core Backend team. You will design and build reliable services, data models, pipelines and evaluation loops that power an AI‑driven decision‑making platform for the insurance industry.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain high‑throughput backend services and data pipelines.
• Develop and evolve the intelligence layer that improves data completeness, decision transparency and explainability.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong sense of ownership.
• Proactive communication, ability to surface blockers and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
• Comfort with rapid experimentation, testing ideas, measuring results and iterating quickly.

Required skills

• Python (primary programming language).
• Serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and EC2.
• Asynchronous workflow orchestration in cloud environments.
• Relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with large language models or generative AI (bonus).
