Steel Trader – Kenya

About the role

This role drives business development across Kenya in the steel sector, focusing on products such as HRC, CRC, GI and PPGI. You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and technical consultation through contract negotiation, closing and long-term account management.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze Kenyan market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning and regional demand patterns to build localized sales strategies.
• Work with Supply Chain, Logistics and Finance teams to handle Kenyan customs processes and ensure smooth order fulfillment.
• Cultivate relationships with existing clients and expand market share to exceed sales targets.
• Represent the company at major Kenyan trade events and industry associations to raise brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of steel international trading experience, with a proven record in steel import/export operations.
• Exceptional negotiation skills, strong commercial sense and an established network in the Kenyan steel industry.
• Self-starter who can work independently, is comfortable with frequent travel and occasional regional trips, and can use English as a working language.
