Stores Clerk - Construction Equipment

About the role

A construction equipment leasing and maintenance company supporting infrastructure projects across Kenya is hiring a Stores Clerk through Stratostaff East Africa. The role manages the receipt, storage and issuance of spare parts, consumables and tools across several operational sites, keeps inventory records accurate and supports procurement coordination so materials are available for equipment maintenance and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and streamline stores inventory records, filing and stock management procedures.
• Track movement of spares and consumables against equipment usage and project needs.
• Receive, inspect and record incoming deliveries against purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate stock records manually and in the company's ERP system.
• Organize and label items correctly for easy identification and retrieval.
• Issue spare parts and materials to mechanics and technicians on authorized requisitions.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile variances promptly.
• Liaise with suppliers and procurement teams to monitor stock levels and raise requisitions.
• Support multiple store locations with consistent inventory standards and reporting.
• Keep storage facilities clean, safe and organized, and prepare regular inventory and consumption reports.
• Identify process improvements to reduce waste and stock losses.

Required profile

• Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in store keeping, preferably in a mechanical, transport or construction environment.
• Hands-on experience managing heavy equipment spare parts.
• Ability to manage inventory across multiple warehouses and project locations.
• Valid driver's license.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with inventory management or ERP systems.
• Inventory control and documentation.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
