Supervisory Wage and Hour Specialist

About the role

The Supervisory Wage and Hour Specialist leads a team responsible for gathering, analyzing, and applying wage data to issue accurate wage determinations for federal projects. This position ensures compliance with federal wage and hour statutes and provides guidance to field representatives and legal counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend and develop policies, procedures, and guidelines for the wage determinations program.
• Identify and resolve operational issues affecting wage data collection and cooperative agreements.
• Evaluate subordinate performance, set standards, approve leave, and provide counsel on work and administrative matters.
• Direct staff workload, prioritize tasks, and assign responsibilities.
• Serve as the focal point for problem identification and resolution in wage data gathering.
• Research and analyze current wage data using surveys and statistical sources.
• Provide technical assistance to the Office of the Solicitor for wage determination cases before administrative law judges.
• Issue guidelines to field representatives for prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits across multiple localities.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and minimum age of 16.
• Ability to obtain required security clearance.
• 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS‑12 level or equivalent.
• Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) compliance.
• At least two of the three specialized criteria: knowledge of federal wage and hour laws, skill in analyzing written/verbal and numerical data, and experience with wage scale administration.
