Supply Chain Management Officer (AN Scale KMTC 8)

About the role

Kenya Medical Training College is recruiting two Supply Chain Management Officers at AN scale (KMTC 8) based in Nairobi, Westlands. The role covers the full range of procurement activities for the College, from planning and sourcing to contract management and verification.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake market research, surveys and analyses
• Implement procurement plans and process purchase requisitions
• Participate in sourcing, supplier evaluation and rating, inviting offers, negotiations and contracting
• Draft procurement and disposal plans and budgets
• Draft bid awards, tender advertisement notices and letters of notification after tender evaluation
• Prepare minutes for tender opening exercises and submit them to the tender evaluation committee
• Identify demand and plan the procurement of items required by user departments
• Inspect and verify items received by the relevant committee
• Verify payment documents for goods, works and services supplied by suppliers and service providers
• Update contract details in government portals and on the College website

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce (Supplies Management option), Procurement and Logistics, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
• Membership of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) in good standing
