Sustainability & Life Cycle Management Intern

About the role

This internship supports Evonik’s Life Cycle Management team, giving you hands‑on experience in sustainability assessments and data‑driven environmental analysis within a global chemical company.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Life Cycle Management team in projects, including conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and sustainability assessments.
• Develop and test new sustainability indicators and assessment methodologies.
• Perform data analysis, build LCA models and link results to process design for emission‑reduction measures.
• Manage and curate data related to LCA studies.
• Review LCA standards and derive insights for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s student or final‑phase Bachelor in a scientific or engineering discipline (preferably chemical engineering or data science).
• Initial practical experience with LCA software (e.g., LCA for Experts/GaBi) and sustainability assessment methods such as biodiversity, toxicology, water impact or Product Environmental Footprint.
• Basic programming knowledge in Python is a plus.
• Fluent English (minimum B2); German (B1) advantageous.
• Independent, goal‑oriented, creative and strong analytical abilities.
