SVP Commercial & Regional Director – East Africa (Fintech)

About the role

Optasia is seeking a visionary senior leader to act as Commercial Director and General Manager for its East Africa regional office. The role combines strategic commercial leadership with full responsibility for regional operations, financial performance, and people management within a fast‑growing fintech platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the commercial strategy for the assigned customer portfolio and region.
• Serve as General Manager, aligning commercial, operational and financial goals with Optasia’s global strategy.
• Oversee revenue generation, cost optimisation, compliance and operational delivery.
• Manage accurate forecasting, budgeting and financial projections for both the portfolio and regional operations.
• Identify growth opportunities and drive adoption of Optasia’s products across existing and new markets.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team of regional and account managers.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders.
• Negotiate high‑value contracts, partnerships and strategic alliances.
• Represent the company at industry events to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• Proven senior commercial leadership experience, preferably in telecoms or mobile financial services.
• Strong track record of building and leading high‑performing teams.
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and manage P&L.
• Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a passion for financial inclusion.
