Systems & Infrastructure Engineer – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to work remotely on a contract basis, supporting a global leader in the information services industry. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing critical systems and infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable infrastructure solutions for cloud and hybrid environments.
• Monitor system performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and implement corrective measures to prevent downtime.
• Automate routine infrastructure tasks using scripting and configuration‑management tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align infrastructure with application and business requirements.
• Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident response processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Hands‑on expertise with infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack.
• Solid scripting abilities in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Familiarity with networking concepts including VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Prior experience supporting production environments in a contract or freelance capacity is preferred.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with infrastructure management is a plus.
