Head of Awards, Localisation & Partnerships

About the role

The Head of Awards, Localisation & Partnerships leads award management, localisation strategy and partnership development for Save the Children’s Kenya Country Office. Based in Nairobi, the role ensures compliance, risk management and high‑quality programme delivery through strong stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of high, medium and low‑risk awards, overseeing contracting, donor compliance, reporting and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate award lifecycle processes in the Award Management System (AMS) and ensure accurate documentation and audit trails.
• Lead partnership portfolio, embedding local partners throughout programme design, implementation and learning.
• Provide strategic portfolio analysis to senior management and donors, highlighting pipeline opportunities and risk areas.
• Oversee budget monitoring, variance analysis and corrective action planning with finance and programme teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences or related field.
• Extensive experience in award management, donor compliance and partnership coordination, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Award Management System (AMS) and financial tracking tools.
• Strong budgeting, cost allocation and variance analysis capabilities.
• Knowledge of donor compliance requirements and audit processes.
