Technical Sales Engineer – Safety & Identification Solutions

About the role
The Technical Sales Engineer will drive growth of Amotech Africa’s safety and identification solutions across Kenya and the wider East African region. Combining deep technical product knowledge with proactive business development, the role serves as the primary technical and commercial liaison for clients, ensuring they receive effective safety solutions for their workforce and assets.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities in manufacturing, construction, mining, oil & gas and other key industrial sectors.
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
- Conduct technical consultations and needs assessments with EHS managers, plant managers and procurement officers.
- Prepare and deliver technical proposals, Bill of Quantities and tender responses tailored to client requirements.
- Provide high‑level technical support, training and on‑site product demonstrations for 3M, Brady and Industrial Scientific portfolios.
- Perform hazard assessments, PPE audits and ensure compliance with Kenya OSHA (2007), KEBS and international standards (ISO, EN, ANSI).
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of product innovations, safety regulations and competitor activities in the region.
Required profile
- Strong technical background in industrial safety and identification solutions.
- Proven experience in technical sales or business development within the safety equipment sector.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel across Kenya and East Africa for client visits and demonstrations.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of 3M Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – respiratory, hearing, eye protection and related safety solutions.
- Expertise in Brady safety identification, lockout/tagout (LOTO) solutions, pipe markers, labeling systems and arc‑flash products.
- Experience with Industrial Scientific gas detection and monitoring equipment, including fixed and portable gas sensors and connected safety solutions.
- Competence in conducting hazard assessments and PPE audits.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements of Kenya OSHA, KEBS and international standards (ISO, EN, ANSI).
