Technical Scrum Master – Nairobi

About the role

The Technical Scrum Master will partner with the Software Development Manager and cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth delivery of IT solutions that support CWS programmatic goals. Based in Nairobi, the role blends agile facilitation with coordination of stakeholders across the organization and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate stakeholders for backlog refinement, clarify non‑functional requirements, and resolve priority conflicts.
• Coach the Product Owner on backlog ownership, value articulation, and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies – Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Sprint Review, Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement – keeping meetings time‑boxed and outcome‑focused.
• Maintain Definition of Ready and Definition of Done to ensure actionable, testable sprint work.
• Run daily unblock huddles, map dependencies, assign owners, and create escalation paths.
• Protect the team from scope creep, ad‑hoc requests, and unnecessary meetings.
• Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to managers, developers, and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading cross‑functional software development teams in an Agile environment.
• Strong facilitation and servant‑leadership skills.
• Ability to mentor team members on self‑organization and collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
