Temporary Specialized Educational Intervenor (North & West)

About the role

The York Catholic District School Board is seeking a Temporary Specialized Educational Intervenor (SEI) to support students with moderate to severe safety or physical needs across its North and West schools. This itinerant, 10‑month assignment works under the direction of the school principal and focuses on implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to promote student safety and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions and support for K‑12 students with special needs in classroom and school settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and adjust programming as needed.
• Provide data and feedback on the effectiveness of interventions to inform ongoing planning.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and the CUPE 2331 collective agreement.
• Travel to assigned schools within the North and West geographical area as required.

Required profile

• Relevant experience working with students who have moderate to severe safety or physical needs.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs under the supervision of a school principal.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to work with teachers, families, and support staff.
• Flexibility to work in multiple school locations on an itinerant basis.

Required skills

• Knowledge of special education practices and safety‑related interventions.
• Familiarity with Individual Education Plans and multidisciplinary collaboration.
