Tennis Instructor (US Navy Program)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Tennis Instructor to deliver professional tennis instruction for a US Navy recreation program on Diego Garcia. The role involves teaching individuals and groups of varying skill levels while maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide up to 20 hours of tennis lessons per week for beginners, intermediate and advanced players.
• Teach fundamentals, techniques, strategies, and rules, including serving, volleying, footwork and match play.
• Organise practice drills, matches and conditioning exercises tailored to improve performance.
• Maintain tennis courts, nets and equipment, ensuring safety and performance standards.
• Distribute and care for racquets, balls and practice aids during sessions.
• Prepare lesson plans and set up the facility for each instructional session.
• Interact professionally with participants, offering feedback, answering questions and fostering an inclusive atmosphere.

Required profile

• Certified Tennis Instructor (USPTA, PTR or equivalent) with documented experience.
• Proven ability to coach players of all ages and skill levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational abilities to schedule lessons and manage equipment.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
