Trade Finance Manager

About the role

A leading banking institution, represented by its recruiter, is looking for a Trade Finance Manager to lead the growth and development of its Trade Finance business. The role drives portfolio growth, revenue generation and transaction structuring while maintaining strong portfolio quality, risk management and regulatory compliance. It works across Business, Credit, Risk, Product and other functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Trade Finance strategy and sales strategy, advise management and build relationships with customers, financial institutions and industry stakeholders.
• Acquire, retain and grow Trade Finance clients in Enterprise and Business Banking, and structure transactions with Business Development, Credit, Risk and Product teams.
• Monitor approved credit line utilization and act as the technical point of contact for Trade Finance transactions.
• Maintain portfolio quality within the bank's risk appetite, ensure regulatory compliance and understand TBML risks and due diligence.
• Monitor performance against volume, revenue and profitability targets, prepare reports and track utilization, fees and commissions.
• Lead, coach and train the Trade Finance team, support succession planning and liaise with the Group Trade Finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Banking or a related field; MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years' banking experience, including at least 5 years in Trade Sales, Trade Finance or Product Management.
• Demonstrated experience in Trade Finance business development, sales and portfolio management.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Trade Finance products, their risk profiles and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in credit structuring and working with Credit, Risk and Business Development teams.
• Understanding of TBML risks and due diligence.
• Ability to grow the business while maintaining portfolio quality and profitability.
