Trade Specialist – Corporate Investment Bank

About the role

The Trade Specialist will manage and deliver end‑to‑end Trade Finance solutions for a diverse portfolio of local, Pan‑African and multinational clients within the Corporate Investment Bank. The role focuses on designing bespoke risk‑management and working‑capital financing structures to meet client needs and drive revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Trade Finance solutions across all key sectors for corporate clients.
• Lead solution design for the Kenya franchise, aligning with client risk‑management and working‑capital requirements.
• Structure and negotiate complex trade and supply‑chain finance transactions, both on‑ and off‑balance sheet.
• Perform financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and deal appraisal to support transaction decisions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve revenue targets and promote the CIB brand as the go‑to bank for Trade Finance in Kenya.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 8‑10 years of banking experience, with at least 10 years in corporate banking and corporate lending.
• Proven track record in Trade Finance sales or transaction roles.
• Deep knowledge of trade/lending structures, especially structured trade and supply‑chain finance.
• Multi‑sectoral expertise across key sectors of the Kenyan economy.
