Trade Specialist

About the role

The Trade Specialist will manage and deliver end‑to‑end Trade Finance solutions for a portfolio of local, pan‑African and multinational clients across key sectors within the Corporate Investment Bank. The role focuses on developing tailored solutions that address clients' risk management and working‑capital needs while driving revenue and reinforcing the bank’s brand as the go‑to provider for Trade Finance in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Trade Finance structures, including structured trade and supply‑chain finance, for corporate clients.
• Lead solution development for the Kenya franchise, ensuring alignment with client needs and revenue targets.
• Conduct financial analysis and credit risk assessments to support deal appraisal and negotiation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote the CIB brand and expand market share.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 8‑10 years of banking experience, with at least 10 years in corporate banking and a strong focus on trade finance sales.
• Proven experience in deal structuring, appraisal and negotiation of complex trade products.
• Multi‑sector knowledge of Kenya’s key economic sectors.
