Trial Attorney – Office of Immigration Litigation (Denaturalization)

About the role
The Office of Immigration Litigation, Denaturalization Unit seeks experienced trial attorneys to litigate civil denaturalization actions on behalf of the United States. You will work on high‑visibility cases involving the revocation of unlawfully obtained naturalization.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain active dockets of affirmative and denaturalization cases across federal district and appellate courts nationwide.
- Coordinate with law‑enforcement and federal immigration agencies on investigations, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and manage complex foreign discovery.
- Represent the United States in trial and appellate proceedings involving terrorists, violent criminals, sex offenders, fraudsters, human‑rights violators, and war criminals.
- Handle constitutional and statutory issues of first impression related to immigration law.
Required profile
- U.S. citizen or national; able to pass a background investigation, drug test, and selective‑service registration.
- J.D. degree and active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- Excellent academic credentials, advocacy, and legal‑writing skills.
- Experience with investigations, motions practice, discovery, depositions, and trial work is highly desirable.
- Judicial clerkship experience and familiarity with constitutional challenges and federal law enforcement is strongly preferred.
