UX Designer – Infrastructure

About the role
Canonical is looking for a UX Designer to help build tools that enable users to create their own cloud experiences across MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud and Canonical Kubernetes. The position is remote within the EMEA region and involves close collaboration with product managers and engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Design and improve user experiences for complex data‑center products such as self‑sovereign clouds.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to shape product direction.
- Develop and evangelise design systems that promote consistency and efficiency.
- Support working groups that drive Canonical’s horizontal design initiatives.
Required profile
- Strong academic record from high school through university.
- Bachelor’s degree in User Experience, Design, STEM or a compelling alternative pathway.
- Passion for building hardware‑related solutions and continuous learning.
- Result‑oriented mindset with confidence in user research practices.
- Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks.
Required skills
- Experience with MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud and Canonical Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of UX heuristics and design system development.
- Proficiency in user research methods and design innovation.
