Vehicle Condition Inspector

About the role

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Vehicle Condition Inspector to join its growing team. You will be the face of the company, providing accurate vehicle assessments and helping clients understand the condition of each car.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease locations.
• Document damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues, and prepare detailed condition reports.
• Estimate repair or replacement costs and submit related documentation.
• Support the sales team by identifying opportunities for up‑selling or cross‑selling services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers and clients.
• Travel to various sites, capture comprehensive photos, and upload them using the company’s smartphone app.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding.
• Onboard independent dealerships to use the digital auction platform.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in the automobile field (body, paint, or mechanical repair) with a customer‑service background.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Valid driver’s license and access to a registered, insured vehicle.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform manual labor (standing, lifting ≥25 lb, bending, squatting).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good vision to identify small defects on and under vehicles.
