Waiter / Waitress

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Waiter/Waitress to join our team at Steak and Pancake Limited in Westlands, Nairobi. You will greet guests professionally, take orders, and ensure a memorable dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, present menus, and explain daily specials and menu items.
• Take food and beverage orders, either on slips, from memory, or via computer, and transmit them to the kitchen.
• Check food and drinks for quality and presentation before serving.
• Serve meals and beverages, process payments, and handle transactions.
• Clear and clean tables promptly, following sanitation standards.
• Perform side duties such as polishing silverware, setting up the restaurant, and refilling condiments.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a hotel, café or similar food‑service environment.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English, with proper spelling and grammar.
• Willingness to work overtime and assist teammates when needed.

Required skills

• Balancing plates and trays efficiently.
• Being attentive, friendly, and polite with guests.
• Maintaining a tidy, clean, and hygienic work area.
• Handling difficult customers while remaining level‑headed.
• Remembering multiple orders and following verbal and written instructions.
