Warranty Engineer

About the role

The Warranty Engineer will manage and optimise warranty, maintenance, and insurance claims for aircraft, engines and components. This role ensures compliance with contractual terms and drives cost recovery for Kenya Airways.

Key responsibilities

• Compile maintenance records and initiate maintenance reserve compensation claims with lessors.
• Gather data on restoration, modification and inspection activities to claim warranty compensation from vendors.
• Monitor deviations from contracted terms and trigger recovery actions to protect product quality and cost.
• Track aircraft, engine and component performance metrics (MTBF/MTBR) and pursue compensation when guarantees are not met.
• Collect and submit insurance claims for damage incidents through the airline’s insurance department.
• Extract, compile and circulate entitlement and obligation summaries for monthly claim status reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management from a recognised institution.
• At least five years of experience in aircraft maintenance, technical fields or related supply‑chain roles.
• Familiarity with repair, warranty, stores, inventory, technical, production and quality interfaces.
• Strong ability to analyse large datasets, detect trends and summarise complex contracts.
