Weighbridge Clerk (Upstream Oil & Gas Waste Management) - Turkana

About the role

WTS Energy is hiring a Weighbridge Clerk for its upstream oil and gas waste management operations in Turkana, Kenya. The role covers the operation and control of weighbridge transactions, including recording, verifying and reporting vehicle and waste movements, and supporting invoicing, billing and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the computerized weighbridge system for incoming and outgoing vehicles and record and verify gross, tare and net weights.
• Generate weighing tickets, maintain daily logs and registers, and capture transactions in Odoo ERP or other approved systems.
• Verify customers, transporters, vehicles, waste classification and supporting documents before processing transactions.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly weighbridge reports on vehicle movements, waste quantities, receipts and dispatches.
• Reconcile weighbridge records with waste receipts, dispatch, disposal, transporter and financial records, and report discrepancies to the Finance Lead / Finance Manager.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate with Finance, Operations, Laboratory, Security, Transport and other project teams.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, waste management, health and safety and operational requirements, and maintain confidentiality of transaction information.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in weighbridge operations, logistics, waste management, manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, construction or similar industrial environments.
• Experience with computerized weighbridge systems, ERP systems (preferably Odoo), data reconciliation, reporting and financial controls.
• Knowledge of waste receipt, transportation and disposal documentation and vehicle movement controls; knowledge of environmental and waste management requirements is an added advantage.
• Ability to work accurately and in compliance in remote, fast-paced project environments.
