Welder - Full Time

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Welder based in Athi River. The role covers welding and fabrication work, reading technical drawings and ensuring quality, with a stated salary of KShs 30,000.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication according to technical drawings, specifications and work instructions, cutting, shaping, assembling and welding metal components to the required dimensions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and measurements, and take accurate measurements before cutting, drilling or welding.
• Inspect welded joints and components, identify defects and dimensional errors and make corrections.
• Operate welding machines, cutters, grinders and drills safely, and maintain and report faults on equipment.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures, use PPE and keep the work area clean and organised.
• Meet production schedules, work with supervisors and engineers, and report material shortages and equipment problems.

Required profile

• Diploma in Welding and Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a welder/fabricator in a workshop, manufacturing, construction or engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and measurements.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and fabrication practices.

Required skills

• Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
• Practical experience in metal cutting, shaping, assembly and welding.
• Good knowledge of welding tools, equipment and materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
