Workshop Controller

About the role

The Workshop Controller will lead the daily operations of TMD Kenya’s automotive service workshop, ensuring fast turnaround times, high quality, and customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Manager of Workshop Operations, you will be responsible for optimizing workflow, compliance, and revenue generation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily workshop activities, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation.
• Track and improve KPIs such as job completion rates, technician utilization, and bay optimization.
• Enforce 100% compliance with KEBS, NTSA, manufacturer specifications, and OSHA Kenya safety standards.
• Conduct daily compliance audits and maintain complete documentation for all work performed.
• Implement real‑time job tracking, identify bottlenecks, and guarantee a 2‑hour emergency service lane.
• Forecast parts demand and pre‑order critical components to eliminate delays.

Required profile

• Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Trade certification from a recognized automotive training institution.
• Valid Class B driving licence (Class C preferred).
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in automotive workshop operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Professional certifications from major automotive manufacturers are a plus.
