Accountant – Full‑time in Nairobi, Kenya

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our automotive business in Nairobi. The role is full‑time and focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing timely reports, and supporting the company’s financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly profit & loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports in line with accounting standards.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, post journal entries and perform regular bank, AP and AR reconciliations.
• Handle tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE filings and liaison with tax authorities and auditors.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensure timely invoice processing, collections and credit control.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, cost‑saving opportunities and provide insights to management.
• Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or ACCA certification.
• 4‑5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry.
• Proven ability to produce accurate financial statements and manage tax obligations.
