Agriculture & Livestock Show Officer

About the role

The Agricultural Society of Kenya is seeking an Agriculture & Livestock Show Officer to coordinate livestock, dairy, poultry and agribusiness programmes within its Westlands branch. The role will provide technical support, engage stakeholders and oversee agricultural exhibitions, training programmes and industry initiatives to achieve the branch’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as liaison between the branch and organizers of specialised shows and exhibitions.
• Source, plan and coordinate off‑show exhibitions and specialised livestock shows.
• Organise and deliver training programmes for members, staff and stakeholders on agriculture and livestock topics.
• Maintain and update relevant databases and records related to agribusiness activities.
• Support research on emerging trends, analyse data and provide technical advice.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities and promote knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in livestock, dairy, poultry production, agribusiness or agricultural extension.
• Knowledge of livestock production systems, dairy farming, poultry production and animal health.
• Experience organising exhibitions, field days and training events.
• Strong communication, report writing and presentation abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using database management systems.
