Assistant Sales Manager – Automotive

About the role

The Assistant Sales Manager will lead a sales team to grow vehicle sales within an assigned territory. The role oversees the full sales cycle from enquiry to delivery, builds a strong customer base, and ensures compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and motivate the sales team to achieve market share, volume, and revenue targets.
• Conduct sales activities such as calls, market visits, presentations, negotiations and deal closures.
• Identify, acquire and manage major customer accounts.
• Structure complex transactions including trucks, trade‑in packages, finance and ancillary offers.
• Develop and implement strategies to meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Provide market intelligence, forecasts and regular sales reporting.
• Oversee KYC, credit documentation, invoicing and delivery status reporting.
• Coordinate with service, parts, finance, accounting and remarketing teams.
• Submit daily call logs, weekly visit reports and pipeline updates.
• Deliver product knowledge training for team members, customers and dealers.
• Drive promotional activities to penetrate new markets and expand geographic reach.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in automotive sales and marketing.
• Proven track record as a sales representative with strong industry knowledge.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record and ability to drive manual vehicles.
