Business Development Manager – International Partnerships

About the role

MapsEdu is expanding its footprint across East Africa and seeks a Business Development Manager to lead international partnership initiatives. Based in Nairobi, you will be the face of MapsEdu in Kenya and neighboring markets, building a robust network of education agencies, universities, and consultants to drive student mobility.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, and onboard education agency partners and overseas consultancies across Kenya and East Africa.
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with universities, institutional representatives, and strategic B2B partners.
  • Generate new business opportunities, meet assigned growth targets, and expand the partner network.
  • Represent MapsEdu at education fairs, conferences, summits, and networking events.
  • Manage student recruitment pipelines, monitor partner performance, and produce accurate sales and business reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on destination campaigns, university promotions, and marketing initiatives.

Required profile

  • Minimum 4 years (48 months) of experience in business development, sales, or partnership management, preferably in education or international student recruitment.
  • Strong network and relationships within the education sector in Kenya and East Africa.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to meet sales targets and drive sustainable growth.
