About the role
The Business Planning and Market Development Analyst supports OPS Africa by turning inputs from regional commercial teams and support functions into executive‑ready materials for planning, market development, performance reporting and strategic initiatives. The role leverages AI, automation, dashboards and structured analysis to improve quality, reduce manual effort and accelerate insight generation.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and present management‑forum reports, including receivables aging reviews and quarterly risk audit submissions.
- Coordinate annual Net Promoter Score surveys and report individual and weekly sales performance across regions.
- Create and maintain process documentation for business planning activities.
- Develop and update industry, competitor and customer models covering market share, growth projections, trends and market forces.
- Analyse macro‑economic, political, legal and regulatory environments and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Produce market and competitive intelligence presentations and reports to support strategic decision‑making.
- Maintain knowledge of data sources, assess their credibility and integrate them into analysis workflows.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders to identify emerging business challenges and enhance the use of strategic analysis.
Required profile
- Graduate degree in business, statistics, economics, finance or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in the payments industry (preferably Africa).
- Strong understanding of payments industry fundamentals, data gathering, analysis and basic strategy frameworks.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel with a willingness to become an expert.
- Proven track record of process improvement and delivering insights from industry information.
