Business Relationship Officer – Credit

About the role

The Business Relationship Officer – Credit will manage and grow a portfolio of micro‑business clients, providing credit solutions while ensuring sound risk management. Based in Westlands, Nairobi, you will act as the primary liaison between the bank and its customers, driving sales, marketing and portfolio performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and process micro‑business and log‑book loan applications.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Drive sales and marketing initiatives to expand the credit portfolio.
• Monitor loan performance, manage delinquency and ensure compliance with credit policies.
• Prepare regular reports on portfolio health and market trends.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Banking, Co‑op Management, Entrepreneurship or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in micro‑business lending and portfolio management.
• Proven sales and marketing experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
• High degree of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
• Excellent communication and customer handling skills.
