Clinical Officer – Patient Care & Minor Surgery

About the role

The Clinical Officer will deliver comprehensive patient care at our Westlands clinic, handling both routine consultations and urgent cases. You will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and following up on a wide range of medical conditions while performing minor surgical procedures safely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
• Diagnose acute and chronic conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and monitor treatment outcomes.
• Perform approved minor surgical procedures such as wound care, suturing, incision and drainage.
• Order and interpret laboratory and imaging investigations.
• Assess and stabilize emergency cases, providing life‑saving interventions when needed.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and prepare required clinical reports.
• Collaborate with nurses, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
• Valid, registered Clinical Officer license in Kenya.
• 2–3 years of post‑qualification experience in a busy outpatient or emergency setting.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Minor surgical procedures (wound care, suturing, incision & drainage).
• Diagnostic testing and interpretation.
